Electronic Appeals Process
We would like to welcome you to the electronic appeals process for Franklin County. It is our intent that this process will provide you, the taxpayer, an option to appeal your current valuation. The appeal period opens on January 1st and lasts until the adjournment of the Board of Equalization and Review (usually early May). The electronic appeal form can be completed in as little as 5 minutes. Before beginning, please review these instructions and accept them by placing a check in the box at the bottom of this page and pressing the Submit button.
Items to have available before beginning:
You should have your Parcel ID and Neighborhood code. These can be found in the Profile section of the Franklin County website. Simply search for your property address at this site:
Parcel Lookup
A valid e-mail address will allow you to receive a copy of the information you have submitted. Additionally, if you have any supporting documentation such as recent appraisals, recent sales information, photos, etc., they should be available in electronic format and stored where you can browse to them through your computer operating system. Finally, you may want to print a copy of this page so that you may refer to it, should you have any questions.
Instructions:
It is best to proceed from top to bottom filling in the information requested on the Electronic Appeals form, many of the fields are self-explanatory and the form is best used/viewed in Internet Explorer. Required fields are indicated by the presence of a red asterisk (*). The Parcel ID # and the NBHD # should be entered precisely as printed on your Profile.
If you feel that your Assessed value is equal to the market value, you do not need to complete an electronic appeal.
There are two text boxes available for you to add any additional information that you would like to apply but neither of those are required.
In the File Uploads section, the Electronic Appeal form will allow you to submit 4 separate files as part of the appeal process. To do this simply press the “Browse…” button (it may say “Choose files” on some browsers) and select the individual file from your operating system. You cannot select multiple files as a single attachment.
I have read and understood the instructions as posted.
