Franklin County citizens have more than 20 days (as stated on the Notice of Real Estate Assessed Value) to appeal their property valuation to the reappraisal contractor, Assessment Solutions, Inc. Appeals may be submitted until the Franklin County Board of Equalization and Review adjourns; however, the date for adjournment is not known at this time. The intent is for no taxpayer to be denied an opportunity to appeal; therefore citizens are encouraged to submit appeals as soon as possible. Appeals are crucial to the reappraisal process and any information provided is helpful in assuring property is valued correctly. To file an appeal, contact Assessment Solutions, Inc. at 919-727-4606 to schedule an appointment, mail in the bottom portion of the Notice of Real Estate Assessed Value, or file an electronic appeal at http://www.franklincountync.us/services/tax. An update on reppraisal progress will be given March 19, 2012 at the Board of Commissioners' Regular Meeting at 7pm at the Hamilton Hobgood Courthouse Annex, 113 S. Main Street, Louisburg, NC.
