The GIS, Assessing and Collections offices will have limited public access available. Face coverings are REQUIRED for building entry.
For Tax Billing and Payments, access to the Tax Collections counter is available workdays from 8am – 1pm and 2pm – 5pm (closed 1pm – 2pm for cleaning/disinfecting).
The Assessing and GIS offices are available by appointment only. Please e-mail TaxOffice@franklincountync.us or call 919-496-2172 to schedule an appointment.
As always, many transactions can be completed via e-mail, website, phone, drop box (right side of main entrance) or US mail.
Appraisers are in the field completing external reviews of properties.

The Tax Office:
The Franklin County Tax Office is responsible for listing, appraising, and assessing all real estate, personal property, and registered motor vehicles within Franklin County. The Tax Office is charged with collecting all current and delinquent taxes on this property. The GIS/Mapping department serves as a clearinghouse and central distributor of geographic information for Franklin County while also maintaining an accurate and current layer of parcels that are situated within our jurisdiction.
There are three departments that are under the Tax Office authority; these are the Assessing Department, Collections Department, and the GIS/Mapping Department. Each department may be accessed by visiting the links on the left side of this page. In addition, there are other linked topics for more specific items of interest or for specific information that you may need.
