The Sheriff’s Community Oriented Policing Efforts (S.C.O.P.E.) Team was formed in the fall of 2009 and designed to improve the relationship between our communities and the Sheriff’s Office.
The S.C.O.P.E. Team works closely with all the divisions at the Sheriff’s Office to receive information about the things that are happening all over Franklin County. One of our main duties is to patrol the roadways of our county with a special emphasis on high crime areas and specific areas that are known for illegal drugs and other criminal activity.
The S.C.O.P.E Team receives the complaints that citizens are having in their neighborhood. From speeding in residential areas to apprehending drunk drivers, we are here to help make Franklin County a safer place to live.
The S.C.O.P.E. Team also offers the following programs for the citizens of Franklin County:
Sheriff’s Citizen’s Academy---a 10 week program which allows people to learn about all aspects of the Sheriff’s Office. To see the current schedule and application click here.
Citizen’s Wellness Check---a program offered to citizens that are over the age of 60, live alone, or are disabled to ensure their safety and well being.
Community Watch---we work closely with citizens to set up a crime prevention program in their communities.
Presentations---we go to churches, schools, and community events to inform people about various topics.
