Criminal  Investigations Division This division contains several units of specially trained investigators and deputies. They include:

Criminal Investigations:  Comprised of one Sgt and 12 investigators. These men and women are trained in all aspects of investigations from murder to missing persons. We have people who have undergone specialized training in homicide investigations, arson, fraud, white collar crimes, gang crimes, child abuse, sexual assaults, property crimes and interviewing techniques. We also have a Computer Voice Stress Analysis Instrument and a Cellbrite unit on hand with investigators trained and certified to use them.

Domestic Violence:  Our domestic violence unit is comprised of a Sergeant, a Deputy and an Investigator. They work together to handle the reports that come in daily. They follow up with the victims to ensure their needs are met.

Drug Investigations:  The Franklin County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit is comprised of a Sergeant and 3 investigators who have gone through extensive training and are tasked with investigating and arresting drug traffickers in Franklin County no matter what level of the drug trade they are in. This unit also handles all the Vice Crimes in the county as well as Dog Fighting and Cock Fighting. They work closely with SBI, DEA, ALE, Franklin County Animal Control, the local police departments, and the surrounding counties. To report illegal Drug or Vice activity call 919.496.7501

CCBI:  Our CCBI unit is 3 full time detectives who collect and store evidence, process crime scenes, and fingerprint. They are also responsible for DNA collections.
