The mission of the Parks and Recreation Department is to promote the quality of life by serving the community's needs for leisure, parks, information and referral, by providing quality and affordable recreational programs and services to all residents.
Along with offering many recreational programs, we also have two county parks located in Franklinton and Pilot NC. They offer different amenities for county residents. Franklinton Park has a baseball and softball field, picnic shelter that can be reserved for outings, a walking trail, a quarter mile track and a soccer field. Pilot Park offers a baseball and softball field, walking trail, and a picnic shelter for rental.
Art Camp (July 21-24) - There are 2 age groups, 5-8 age group attend from 9am-10am and 9-12 age group meet from 10am-11am. Camp will be held at Terrell Lane Middle School. The fee is $30 and registration ends July 18th. Limited spacing for this camp.
Golf Camp (July 28-30) - 9am-1pm (ages 5-18). Golf camp is designed to improve junior golfers' skills and knowledge of the game. The camp will be held at Bull Creek Country Club. The fee is $100 and registration ends July 21st. Limited spacing for this camp.
Cheerleading Camp (Aug. 4-7) - 9am-12pm (ages 5-15). Cheerleading camp will teach proper techniques, tumbling, and chants for the upcoming cheer season. The camp will be held at Louisburg Elementary. The fee is $30 and registration ends August 1st. Limited spacing for this camp.
Adult Coed Softball - Coed softball is a fun way to get out and enjoy yourself. There are special rules to make it fun for everyone. The fee is $350 a team and registration ends July 24th.
