The mission of the Parks and Recreation Department is to promote the quality of life by serving the community's needs for leisure, parks, information and referral, by providing quality and affordable recreational programs and services to all residents.
Along with offering many recreational programs, we also have two county parks located in Franklinton and Pilot NC. They offer different amenities for county residents. Franklinton Park has a baseball and softball field, picnic shelter that can be reserved for outings, a walking trail, a quarter mile track and a soccer field. Pilot Park offers a baseball and softball field, walking trail, and a picnic shelter for rental.

The park will enhance quality of place for Franklin County by offering diverse and inclusive recreational activities and educational opportunities.

Summer Programs 2018
Limited Spacing For Camps
Wrestling Camp - (June 25-28) 9am-12pm. Franklin County Parks and Recreation is introducing a wrestling camp. The program teaches basic grappling, holds, and locks of freestyle wrestling. The camp will be held at Louisburg High School. Ages 5-18. The fee is $30. Registration ends June 24th.
Soccer Camp - (July 9-12) 9am-12pm Soccer Camp teach the basic and advanced techniques of soccer, including dribbling, passing, receiving and shooting. We keep it fun and lively, with other engaging activities. The camp will be ran by the Coach from Louisburg College. Ages 5-18. The fee is $30. Registration ends July 8th. The camp will be held at Louisburg College.
Art Camp - (July 16-19) 9am-10am and 10am-11am. This course is taught at Louisburg Elementary School. There are two age groups and two different times for each group. 5-8 year olds will attend from 9am-10am, 9-12 year olds are taught from 10am-11am. The fee is $30. Registration ends July 15th .
Cheerleading Camp - (July 30-Aug. 2) 9am-12pm. Cheerleading Camp is for ages 5-15 to learn and prepare for the upcoming cheer season. The fee is $30. Registration ends July 29th. The camp will be held at Louisburg Elementary School.
Golf Camp - (July 30-Aug. 1) 9am-1pm. This camp is designed to improve Junior Golfers’ skills and knowledge of the game. The camp will be held at The River Country Club. The fee is $100. Ages 5-18. Registration ends July 28th.
Summer Youth Basketball League - This league is for children ages 5-18. Groups will be broken up by ages. They will play in an organized league that promotes teamwork and leadership. Registration ends on June 24th. The fee is $30. Birth date as of July 1.
Summer Volleyball League - Summer youth volleyball league is a chance to play volleyball in a league setting. The groups are 7-10, 11-18. The cost is $30 and registration will end on June 17th. Birth date as of July 1.
Adult Coed Softball - Franklin County Parks and Recreation is offering an Adult Coed Softball league. The fee for a team is $350. Registration ends on July 1st. Games will be played at Franklinton Park, Moose Lodge and Pilot Park.
