The Personnel Response System enables older adults to call for help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for medical, fire, or security emergencies. The system connected to the telephone, responds to a signal from either an emergency pendant, hand held transmitter or smoke detector. The call is answered by the Franklin County Communications (911) department. The equipment is provided through an agreement with AC Cooperation. A staff of the Department of Aging installs the equipment, trains the client on its use, and obtains detailed information about the client which is related to the Communications Department.
